Jim Collins has been involved in the Seattle music scene since the ‘70s working gigs from the symphony orchestra to the rock arena, swing bands to smokey blues clubs. An experienced bass player with a background that spans classical, jazz, rock, funk and blues, Jim knows exactly how to lay down the groove and energize the crowd. Like the rest of the band members Jim is a strong songwriter and is contributing the Gryffyn’s continually expanding library of tasty original rhythm and blues. Like al the band members Jim co-produces our recordings
Rick Mutter is a multi-talented keyboard player. Rick’s technical prowess is readily apparent and his lead vocals are simply outstanding. He brings together and extraordinary blend of rock, funk, blues and jazz to his instrument. Rick, a long time Seattle area musician, is also contributing compositions to Gryffyn’s list of original material. If you’re into killer Hammond B3 chops you’ll absolutely love Rick!
Sean Denton is the lead guitarist and vocalist for the band. He is also the primary songwriter. He is the founding member of The Gryffyn Band which was first established in 1969 and then reformed in 2004. As comfortable in the studio as he is on stage, Sean’s skills not only include stellar guitar and vocal chops, but he is accomplished slide guitar and harmonica player as well. Sean also co-produces all of the band’s recordings.
Mark Talbott has been working Seattle area clubs with various bands since his early teens. His influences have been varied and include rock, funk, blues, r&b and jazz. Mark is an experienced and strong back beat drummer who, with the rest of the band, will get your feet thumpin’. He has contributed several of his own tunes to the band’s sets, being a fine songsmith in his own right. Additionally he is the band’s tracking, mix down,producttion and mastering engineer.
